technical 

director of photography

director of photography are key heads of Department on film productions and theirs is one of the major creative roles. director of photography creates the visual identity or look of the film. they do this by working with the director, camera crew and lighting department. they managing all aspects of filming: from ordering and overseeing equipment to recces to reviewing footage. dop must use a variety of source material including stills photography, painting, other films, etc. dop create the desired look using lighting, framing, camera movement.

Sound technicians are required to assemble, operate and maintain the technical equipment used to record, amplify, enhance, mix or reproduce sound.
Sound technician roles can be split into two categories which are production - the recording of all sound on set or on location or post-production - the balancing, mixing, editing and enhancing of pre-recorded audio.Sound technicians frequently have to work long days and unsocial hours.
costume designer
Image result for costume designerCostume Designers help to define the overall look of TV productions and films and they require a a lot of expertise. they must do this within strict budgets, and to tight schedules.

costume designers work closely with the production designer to make sure the costumes fit in with the vision and work with the chosen lighting and camera angles. They also work with hair and make-up team to make sure a good look is created.

during pre-production stage the costume designers break down the script scene by scene to work out how many characters are involved and what costumes are required. They then develop costume plots for each character. the costume designer makes sure that colours and styles do not mimic each other in the same scene. costume designers are in charge of designing, creating, enquire and hiring all costumes for Actors and extras.

costume designers must be creative and imaginative, have excellent design skills, be skilled in research, know about costume history and modern fashion, be able to work under pressure to strict deadlines, be highly organised,have the confidence to motivate a team.

editorial 

TV news editor 


a TV editor cuts different pieces of film together to tell a story. All TV news editors need to be creative and be able to work well with others and have organisational skills.
no specific qualifications are needed but having film or media production experience may be helpful.

a TV editor will have to be both a technical and creative one. a tv editor needs to be able to operate editing equipment and software for hours on end. they will also need to get footage that best captures a particular emotion or scene. You can affect the pace and tone of a TV episode by cutting scenes in a certain way or by putting in sound effects and music.

Robert Peston is a British journalist and presenter. He is the Political Editor of ITV News and host of the weekly political discussion show Peston on Sunday.

a film editor is responsible for putting together raw material into a finished product that will be suitable for broadcasting. This may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects.

You don’t need a specific qualification but a film editor will need to be able to use specific editing software packages, such as Final Cut Pro and there is courses that cover this and it is available at varying levels. also having experience of the very latest technology can also help in being successful in the role.

a film editor works closely with the Director. To ensure that the story flows correctly from beginning to end, each shot is carefully chosen and edited into a series of scenes, which is then put together to create the finished film.

Editors work long, unsociable hours in an edit suite. They are employed on a freelance basis by the producer, based on their reputation and experience.

Arthur Schmidt is a famous editor he edited the film of Forrest gump. 

after effects editor

An after effects editor works mainly in post-production. they usually have a harder to carry out and work closely with the editor. the after effects editor is responsible for effects to the film or TV programme.

Production managers ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently.
location manager. production Managers must also be able to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines.

a production manager is involved with the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes. they make sure goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality. PM are likely to be responsible for both human and material resources. they are involved in the pre-production  stage as well as the production stage. A large part of the job is dealing with people management.

scriptwriter


Image result for script writerScreenwriters have to produce highly creative writing, to strict deadlines. They work with a script development team to create a finished product that is likely to be financed and made. Sometimes producers bring in an additional Screenwriter to improve certain aspects of the screenplay.

The majority of scriptwriters specialise in a particular genre, such as comedy, drama, sci-fi, fantasy, horror or action. scriptwriters don’t need formal training or a specific qualification. You can go on screenwriting courses. a famous scriptwriter is Christopher Nolan who is the writer of Inception, the dark knight, the dark knight rises.


director and graphic designer

Directors are responsible for putting the written script into actual images and sounds on the screen. They are responsible for a film's artistic and commercial success or failure.They must then develop a vision for the finished film and work out how to achieve it.

During pre-production, Directors make crucial decisions, such as selecting the right cast, crew and locations for the film. They then direct rehearsals and the performances of the actors once the film is in production.

They also manage the technical aspects of filming including the camera, sound, lighting, design and special effects departments.

directors work closely with Editors to reach the final cut or version of the film. You don’t need a formal qualification to become a Director.

a famous director is Tim Burton who directed famous films like  Beetlejuice ,Edward Scissorhands

Graphic designers create visual concepts using computer software or by hand to communicate ideas that inspire and  inform consumers. They develop the overall layout and production design for various applications such as advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports.

A graphic designer works on a variety of products and activities, such as websites, advertising, books, magazines, posters, computer games, product packaging etc.

Internship or placement experience is extremely useful, especially if you have a reference who can recommend you and provide evidence of what you've done.

Relevant subjects for graphic design work include those that involve visual arts. You will need a degree in Graphics, Art, Architecture, Theatre, Interior or 3D Design.
