unit 8- developing technologies in film and tv industries (6)

Modern life has become easier and the people of the world have to thanks to the immense contribution of the internet technology to communication and information sharing.

the pros for analogue

Analogue recordings can be more accurate and natural sounding due to changes in air pressure being captured exactly as recorded.

Analog technology records wave forms as they are

Low cost and portable.Low cost and portable.

the cons for analogue
Analogue recordings are much harder and more time consuming to edit. You can’t chop up and edit pieces of audio within minutes.

Unwanted noise like tape hisser equipment noise is hard to get rid of. There is also no undo button so if something is accidentally deleted or wrongly edited then it’s gone for good.

Analogue equipment can be large, bulky and require lots of space to store it. it can also be extremely expensive to repair if it breaks down.

the pros for digital broadcasting

the pros of digitial broadcasting is the quality of the picture and sound. there is a much better sound and picture quality compared to analogue. through digtital broadcasting there is a transmission of High Definition TV and offers higher viewing resolution than traditional analogue systems.

digital broadcasting requires less bandwidth. the transition to digital TV is that it uses less bandwidth than analogue systems. so then the frequencies are freed up in the switchover to digital TV so this means it can be made available to other services and applications and also promoting efficient use of the radio frequency spectrum.

With standard analogue systems only a handful of channels can be received, but with digital TV, since its signals can be multiplexed, it is possible to offer a larger number of channels, which means a wider selection can be made available to consumers.

with digital broadcasting it can display high quality pictures from blu ray and game consoles plugged into the tv.

the cons for digital broadcasting

Another disadvantage of the digital broadcast is the loss of signals. With the old analog broadcast, you are probably used to bad picture when the weather is bad, but with the new digital one you will loose all your channels entirely. This means that you have to be getting the prefect TV signals all the time, because otherwise you will simply not get any picture at all.

The biggest disadvantage of the digital TV is the fact that you will need special equipment.

the internet

the internet is used a lot within the development of media and tv. many people now use the internet for legal services like netflix and illegal film sites. with this becoming so popular things like dvd stores are out of business.

communicate with people in virtually any parts of the world through the internet or e-mail, without having to leave his room.Any kinds of information on any topic under the sun is available on the internet.

lastly entertainments is a popular reasons why many people prefer to surf the internet. Downloading games or just surfing the celebrity websites are some of the uses people have discovered. however the internet can be very time consuming.
