unit 8- courses within media industry (14)

in this task i will researching into courses within the media industry that could help me develop professionally and why they would benefit me.

university

the first course that could help me develop professionally would be to take media arts because it is a mix of different area of the media and top of that most of the work is degree.

Media Arts course gives allows the person to focus on one area or work across media. it will prepare me for the ever-changing media and arts industries by helping gain the skills and confidence needed to be creative  and push boundaries.

with this degree i can go into any area in the media and not only that even if i decide not to go into a media based area i can use the practical skills ive learnt and use it in another field. additionally i am also a law student and from research i have discovered that employers like the civil service employ media students, so i have many routes to go with this.

work experience

another course that i could do would be to do work experience because there is no such thing as experience that not valid and as media as a whole is so diverse it could aid me in different ways and even in ways i never expected. by doing work experience in this field shows determination due to its popularity so it will show wherever i go that i am  persistence and motivation.

To gain work experience and to build up a portfolio of work inst easy as it will require me to  contact radio, television, newspaper, PR or advertising agencies and to ask for opportunities and the best time to do it would be summer time, part time and even voluntary opportunities.

Some courses will offer the opportunity to undertake a work placement with a media or related company and by doing this it would allow me to get excellent opportunity to develop practical and professional skills and to make industry contacts.
